Our client, a well-established insurance carrier based in Texas, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Field Auto Appraiser to join their Dallas team. In this role, you will conduct field inspections of damaged vehicles, provide accurate repair estimates, and ensure prompt and fair claims settlements for policyholders. This position is perfect for professionals with experience in both body shop operations and insurance claims who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This is a fully remote position including Company Vehicle and Company Credit Card.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of damage and calculate repair costs.
- Use appraisal software to prepare precise estimates, leveraging expertise in body shop repair processes and insurance claim standards.
- Collaborate with policyholders, repair facilities, and internal claims adjusters to facilitate timely claims resolution.
- Verify damage estimates with repair facilities, negotiate costs, and approve supplemental repairs as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of appraisals, photographs, and supporting documents.
- Partner with claims adjusters, underwriters, and other departments to ensure efficient claims processing.
- Stay updated on Texas auto insurance regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of auto appraisal experience, with a preference for candidates with prior body shop and/or insurance carrier experience.
- Active Texas Auto Appraiser license preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Audatex experience is preferred but NOT required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- $70,000 – $95,000 annually (commensurate with experience) plus company vehicle and credit card.
